WHO WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE ENTREPRENEUR GRANT?
This grant will be open to all Indian River County Residents who, when they submit their letter of interest, are between the ages of 18 and 28. They must have a High School Diploma (or equivalent.) Applications are encouraged from individuals and groups who are simply at the idea stage, as well as those who are already engaged in a start-up venture. Those already engaged must clearly show how the grant will improve the venture not just subsidize current operations.
All applicants will sign an agreement that the following stipulations will be met if awarded the grant:
1. At least 50% of the total grant will be spent locally.
2. A minimum of 1% of annual profits generated by the venture to be donated back to the community in the form of donations to a local charity, funding of a local community project or investment in another local entrepreneur.
3. Provide 5 hours of mentoring, annually, to future WoB Entrepreneur applicants and grantees.
4. For up to 5 years, all marketing material must contain a public reference of gratitude to the Mangrove Sponsor(s) who donated during the year in which the grantee’s letter of interest was submitted.
WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR APPLYING FOR THE ENTREPRENEUR GRANT?
Applicants seeking the WoB Entrepreneur Grant will be required to complete an online letter of interest, attend seminars, submit a written proposal and present a compelling oral presentation no less than 12 minutes and no more than 20 minutes long.

Letter of Interest must be submitted on-line at the WoB Website. Basic information will be required. Anyone submitting a letter of interest will also be asked to provide the contact information of one local professional business owner/manager who will provide support/guidance to the applicant throughout this process.
September 1, 2017
Everyone who has submitted the Letter of Interest will be contacted and invited to attend 8 seminars.
September – December 2017
Two (4) hour seminars per month will be provided. These Seminars will address feasibility of idea, business plan, resources, etc., as well as pitch polishing. Attendance at the seminars will count in the final scoring of their proposals.
January 16, 2018 – Midnight of January 20, 2018
Written proposals will be accepted. E-mailed in PDF format.
